Moving Air - Air can move things. It is a force. It can speed things up or slow things down. In olden days large ships had sails and relied on moving air (the wind) to drive them. To investigate this we asked the question can we move various materials using air? We blew through straws creating air. We blew marbles and pom poms. We found out that the pom poms were much easier to blow as they were lighter. We made and blew bubbles also. Today in art we did some bubble painting. We mixed some paint in a cup with a little water and a squirt of washing-up liquid. Then we stirred it up. We then blew into the cup with a straw to create lots and lots of bubbles. Then we gently placed paper over the bubbles to take a print from them. It was SO much fun!
A little while ago our class worked on the Children of Lir. We put it together using Photostory. We linked art with oral language to complete this task. Here is the finished product.
