We had a lovely PE lesson this afternoon with Miss Delahunt. We played what time is it Mr Wolf, Call the number and other fun games. | |
Today in class we learned all about Magnets. Magnets are objects that produce an area of magnetic force called a magnetic field. Magnets only attract certain types of metals, other materials such as glass, plastic and wood aren't attracted. Magnets have a magnetic north pole and a magnetic south pole. If the same pole of two magnets are placed near each other they will push away (repel), while if different poles are placed near each other they will pull together (attract). Here we are exploring and investigating magnets.
Soil is one of the most important materials on our planet. It is made up of a mixture of living and non-living materials. We went outside and got a soil sample from the school pitch. We brought it back to the classroom and investigated what was in the soil. We found stones, roots of plants, insects and earthworms. Here we are getting our hands dirty!!
Today we began planting some seeds to develop our awareness of the life cycle of seeds. We planted sun flowers.
