In Drama this week we acted out various scenarios from the Irish Legend "The Children of Lir". We had lots of fun dressing up as King Lir and his wicked wife Aoife. We remembered to use facial expression and actions when we were in character. We took a walk to observe the changes that are occurring in Autumn around our school today. While we were on our trail we examined a tree and identified the different parts of the tree. Then we collected leaves, took bark rubbings and leaf rubbings. We found a sycamore, an ash, a beech, and an oak tree. On returning to the classroom we examined what we had found.
The dentist called today and checked our teeth. She was very happy with them.

Trip to the recycling centre. In Geography this week we discussed our responsibility in playing a part in keeping our community and environment clean and tidy.We decided to take a walk to the local recycling centre. On route we took note of the directions we went (turning left/right etc) and the landmarks we passed. We passed the church, the shrine Moran's pub etc. We also watched out for signs in the environment. We noticed a stop sign, a warning sign for children crossing and the sign for the pedestrian crossing. Friendship Award
