.Best of luck to 2nd class on the first step in preparation for their First Communion. Their Enrolement Ceremony will take place this Sunday the 25th of October in Ballintogher Church at 11.30am. They have prepared for the day and helped Ms. Mc Hugh put together their Enrolement Book.
What fun we had today. Everyone got into the spirit of Halloween getting dressed up in their Halloween costumes. We were delighted to have 5th and 6th class show us some Halloween dances that we carried out on the yard. We tasted some bairín breac while finishing our Halloween cards. We had a very busy day and were tired going home.
We made an Autumn collage. First we painted hedgehogs and added buttons and pompoms as noses. When they were completed we got leaves and coloured them with lots of autumn colours.
Maths week begins today. We are focusing on the topic of 2D shapes. We started today with a maths challenge. Then we looked at 2D shapes and their properties e.g. how many sides/corners they have and whether they are straight or curved. Then we played a fun shape game. We had lots of fun. We even used some 2nd class boys to make a rectangle. We will have our "Maths Eyes" on this week for sure!
This week in Maths we were learning about Time - The Days of the week, months of the year, sequencing events and the seasons. Today we decided to set up 5 stations and take part in station teaching. At each station we carried out a different task. We enjoyed our maths class.
Congratulations to Rebecca for winning this weeks helpful friend award. What a deserving winner. Well done Rebecca.
