Today we celebrated the feast day of St Brigid. We listened to the story of St Brigid's cloak and made crosses from rushes.
Many thanks to all the wonderful Grandparents who travelled near and far to our celebration today as part of Catholics School Week. It was lovely meeting you all.

![]() Reminder : Grandparents Day will take place this Wednesday the 31st of January. Grandparents, family and friends are invited to Ballintogher Church at 1pm and afterwards to the hall for a nice cup of tea and a chat. We are looking forward to seeing you all.
As part of Oral Language this month we are discussing weather. One aspect we have discussed is the the water cycle. We looked at words such as accumulation, precipitation, condensation and evaporation. To help us understand these concepts we made "The Water Cycle" in a bag. We also learned a song.
The Water Cycle Song from LolaAlejandra2010 on Vimeo. To link nicely with our work on the Antarctica we decided to write some Pyramid poetry in English. In Pyramid poems we got to describe penguins. We started by using the noun Penguin and then using one adjective in the first line, then two adjectives in the second line and so on. It finished with a short sentence to round off the poem. We have them displayed in our classroom. Here are a few examples.
We studied the continents and oceans of the world. We used our atlases to locate the continents and find some facts about them. We then took a closer look at the continent. We learned that
