Science Week got off to a great start! The students who took part in the Science Fair in Sligo IT on Sunday came to our class to present their experiments to us. We learned about Bacteria, Brush bots, Hover-crafts, and How a nappy works. Afterwards we carried out our own experiment. Today we made play dough. We will do a fun experiment every day this week. On Thursday the 5th of November Sgt Ross Downey and Private Helmuth Callaghan based in Finner Camp came to our school to present the Irish Flag and the Irish Proclamation. We were very excited awaiting their arrival. Our class formed a guard of honor with small flags. Ben and Rayann from 6th class read some of the Proclamation, while Mark from Junior Infants received the flag and Dominika in 6th received the Proclamation on behalf of the school. We had a lovely time.
As part of the 1916 celebrations each primary school in Ireland will receive the Irish Flag. We will receive our flag on Thursday the 5th of November by a member of the Civil Defence. We are looking forward to this. In preparation we are learning our National Anthem Amhrán na bhfiann.
