- Antarctica is the fifth-largest continent, lying in the southernmost part of the earth.
- Geographically, it is situated in the Southern Hemisphere and covers the South Pole.
- It is surrounded by the Southern Ocean and covers an area of 14 Million square kilometers.
- Its isolated terrain is home to rich wildlife, including penguins.
- Almost whole Antarctica is covered with ice. Only 2% of the Antarctica has no ice.
- Antarctica is the coldest, iciest, driest and most windy continent on earth.
- There are no permanent residents on Antarctica due to extremely cold weather. We then integrated our Geography with art and English. In art we created some beautiful antarctic landscapes. We used oil pastels to complete them. We used cool colours to depict the landscape in the Antarctic. To make them individual we added some animals one would find there. In English pupils researched the Antarctic/animals of the Antarctic and wrote about it.
