| We completed two collaborative pieces of art for our communion day to display in the church. I think you'll agree we did a great job! |
Best of luck to our Communion class who will celebrate their First Communion tomorrow. Enjoy all the wonderful celebrations.
As the sun shone today, we really enjoyed our active breaks on the back field. Long may the sunshine last...
Well done to the children from 3rd and 4th class who took part in a GAA Blitz today in Scarden. They had a wonderful day and returned full of chat about their day..
In Maths we discussed Length. We started using non - standard units of measurement such as cubes to measure items around the class. We then moved on to a more standard unit of measurement such as cm and m. Here we are measuring using a class ruler and metre stick.
Second class enjoyed a game of word families snakes and ladders during phonics. The games was based on well known maths game snakes and ladders. Instead of numbers each square had a word family ending e.g. at, ack etc. When they landed on it they had to say 3 words with that ending. Lots of fun was had thinking of new words.
Communion Art preparations are underway today in preparation for Saturday. We were colouring, cutting, sticking and gluing. We can't wait to see the finished product!
Many thanks to the Student Council for organizing a wonderful event today in aid of Crumlin's children's Hospital. A wonderful array of hairstyles were on show and certainly fitted the bill of "CRAZY"...Well done to everyone who took part and donated what they could to this very worth cause. This is very much appreciated.
