**Maths Jokes of the day **
Why did the maths book look so sad?
It had so many problems!
Why did the boy eat his maths homework?
Because the teacher told him it was a piece of cake!
We took part in a maths quiz today for Maths Week. It was great fun and there were a few maths jokes too.
**Maths Jokes of the day ** Why did the maths book look so sad? It had so many problems! Why did the boy eat his maths homework? Because the teacher told him it was a piece of cake! Autumn is a beautiful season of colour. We learned that during autumn, the leaves on trees turn bright colours and fall off their branches. We discussed how it happens:
Leaves contain something called chlorophyll which turns them green. Without chlorophyll, leaves start to turn to different shades of orange and yellow. The leaves need sunlight and water to produce food that is then stored inside the leaf. There isn’t enough sunlight in autumn to produce any food, so the leaves start to lose chlorophyll and turn orange or yellow. When all the stored food has gone, the leaves start to die and turn brown. When they have died they fall from the tree. Once we'd this done we went outside and explored the environment. We collected leaves and seeds from the sycamore, ash and beech tree and on returning to the class we examined the leaves and some seeds also. We were delighted to invite the junior and senior room in to see our production of Florence Nightingale.
Today, we were delighted to perform "The Story of Florence Nightingale" for the junior and senior room. We worked very hard in preparation for the performance and I think you'll all agree everyone did a great job. From our narrators, to our soldiers and nurses everyone played a vital role. Well done everyone.
