Below are some clips that David mentioned for us to have a look at to further our knowledge of the ocean. As part of the Marine Explorers Education Programme we headed off to Strandhill Beach Sligo today. This programme lets the student’s gain a huge interest and knowledge of our ocean, marine environment, species and seashores.
The day started with a presentation given by David Horkan in the classroom who then brought us to the beach to explore the seashore. We found very interesting things such as limpets, whelks, sea anemones and razor shell to name but a few. On returning to the classroom we were presented with our marine explorer certificates. Not only were we marine explorers for the day we had a lots of fun too!! |
