Working on a country of Europe each, we put together some information about it such as the capital city, its climate and currency. We then presented it to the class. What a wonderful morning we had this morning in Ballintogher Hall. Many thanks to Kate from Sligo Sport and Recreation and our fantastic parents for attending. The children had a great time. What’s the science behind (or inside) a bubble?A bubble is just air wrapped in soap film. Soap film is made from soap and water (or other liquid). The outside and inside surfaces of a bubble consist of soap molecules. A thin layer of water lies between the two layers of soap molecules, sort of like a water sandwich with soap molecules for bread. They work together to hold air inside.
Reminder for parents of children from Junior Inf to 2nd class...Sugradh le chéile Parent and child active workshop will take place this Wednesday morning the 2nd of October from 9.30am - 10.30 am in Ballintogher Hall.
This month in S.E.S.E we focused on myself and my family. We brought in artefacts from when we were babies and discussed the changes that has taken place since then. We created timelines and made some beautiful family trees. We also brought in family photos which included our immediate and extended families.. This month we have spoken a lot about our families, our siblings, immediate family and extended family. Using all this new vocabulary we decided to write an acrostic poem based on our families. Here they are on display in our class.
We are working on Mé Féin this month in Gaeilge and the children have been working very hard to talk about themselves as Gaeilge. Keep posted for some examples...
