For the month of September our we have focused on the fundamental skill of walking. We also worked on relays, our starts and baton passes and the game - Tag Rugby. To begin our year we read a lovely story called "The Kissing Hand" where a little raccoon Chester was heading off to school but was missing his Mum. However, as all Mums do, she took his hand gave it a kiss and told him not to worry and that if he was lonely put his hand to his cheek and remember the kiss she gave him. Following this we looked at the art of Charley Harper which was strongly inspired by nature an animals. We also looked at Vincent Van Gogh and His painting of "A starry night" which gave us ideas for the background of our picture.
Wishing all our amazing students a fabulous Summer Break. Have lots of fun, relax and enjoy the well deserved break.
We visited St Michael's pitch today for our final Senior Gaelic League of the year. Many thanks to Kitty for refereeing the match, the students from 4th, 5th and 6th for demonstrating some wonderful skills, Lee and Aaron (1st class) our managers and 1st - 3rd for supporting the teams. Well done everyone!
Today we said goodbye to these 7 wonderful students. We would like to wish them every success in their new adventures and the next chapter in their wonderful lives.
Today, we were delighted to welcome two past pupils Aaron and Ciaran from St Michaels club to our school, to raise our 5 Star GAA Centre flag. This flag was awarded in recognition of the huge involvement in, and promotion of Gaelic games in our school. We are 1 of only 5 schools in Sligo to achieve this recognition. Well done to all involved. Many thanks also to Brian and Padraig from St Michaels club, Liam Og from Sligo GAA, and Aaron and Darragh who have coached the children throughout the year who were also in attendance. Today 2nd -6th had a fantastic day in Lough Allen Adventure Centre Drumshanbo followed by a tour of Carrick famine workhouse.
The following photo-story shows a snapshot of all the activities our school has taken part in over the past year. Enjoy!
